It doesn’t get much better than a day out and about in the stunning Yarra Valley, popping in to cellar doors and sampling everything from a sparking Shiraz to a crisp Sauvignon Blanc and luscious ports. In fact, the only person who might not be having a good time is the designated driver, especially if they’re fond of a tipple themselves. If you and your friends fancy a day among the vines but can’t decide on who has to be Sober Sally, why not put yourselves in the hands of Victoria Winery Tours and book a guided wine tour so you can taste away to your heart’s content?
Victoria Winery Tours have been running tours throughout the Yarra Valley, the Mornington Peninsula and the Macedon Ranges since 1991. They can cater for groups from two to 200, but their specialty is smaller groups of up to 10 people for which they can tailor a personalised itinerary depending on which wineries you and your group wish to visit. Every host has specialised training in wine tourism and knows each region inside out so feel free to pipe up from the back of the bus and test their knowledge. The Wine and Wildlife package is a corker, with a visit to some premium cellar doors followed by a stop at the fabulous Healesville Sanctuary. Jump back on board the bus after checking out the native animals and head for the beautiful De Bortoli restaurant and cellar door for a divine two-course lunch.
